Saanich residents are reminded that the final aerial spraying treatment to eradicate invasive gypsy moths from land around Elk Lake and Bear Hill Regional Park will occur Tuesday, June 6, between sunrise (5:10 a.m.) and 7:30 a.m., weather permitting.

The Province will close the black bear hunting season on Haida Gwaii at midnight on Sunday, June 4, 2017.

The BC Wildfire Service is planning a controlled burn near the base of Mount Horetsky, approximately 39 kilometres northwest of Fort Babine. The burn will only take place if weather conditions permit and may begin as early as May 28, 2017.

The Kamloops Fire Centre is reminding the public that a Category 2 and Category 3 open burning prohibition came into effect at noon on May 19.
