Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone has issued the following statement in recognition of the resignation of B.C. Container Trucking Commissioner Andy Smith on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015:

Travel information for provincial highways, including road closures, planned work and extreme weather conditions, is now available in Open511 format as a real-time data feed that businesses and programmers can use to create new apps and online services for the consumer market.

During construction of the Stanley Park Causeway pedestrian and cycling safety improvement project, detours will be implemented to ensure the safety of construction crews and the travelling public.

The public is invited to attend a drop-in information session on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, about proposed improvements to Highway 16 west of Prince George.

Between the hours of 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, the Stanley Park Causeway will be closed for site preparation work for the Stanley Park Causeway pedestrian and cycling safety improvement project.

A major four-lane expansion of Highway 97 between 74 Mile to 76 Mile is now complete.

The RBC GranFondo Whistler cycling event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015.

Construction is slated to begin Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, on a major pedestrian and cyclist safety improvement project for the Stanley Park Causeway.
