Key stability work and road improvements soon will begin at Ten Mile Slide as preparations continue toward a long-term solution on one of British Columbia's most technically challenging slide sites.

With the completion of new passing lanes, now it is easier to safely pass slower-moving traffic on Highway 5 between Barriere and Little Fort.

Legislation introduced Nov. 19, 2018, by the provincial government will allow ride-hailing companies to enter the B.C. market next year, while putting priority on safety for passengers.

The British Columbia government is lowering speed limits on 15 sections of highway in the province to keep people safer and reduce the chance of speed-related collisions.
