The British Columbia government is appointing seven new provincial court judges to address upcoming retirements to ensure the judiciary has the resources to continue to provide access to justice.

Government is acting to ensure greater safety and protection of those experiencing or are at risk of family violence, by using professional process servers for delivery of protection orders at no cost to applicants, in all regions of the province.

Leaders of B.C.’s justice and public safety sector came together for a discussion of services and supports to benefit people with mental-health or substance-use disorders who are in contact with the criminal justice system.
