Michelle Mungall, Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, has issued the following statement:

Eleven building projects have been selected as winners in a juried competition to support the design and construction of energy-efficient buildings.

With British Columbians eager to get behind the wheel of a clean energy vehicle (CEV), the government is releasing another $26.5 million and making changes to its popular CEVforBC rebate program to meet ongoing demand.

Burnaby’s AVL Fuel Cell Canada will receive $147,000 to further develop B.C.’s clean energy vehicle (CEV) sector, create good jobs and support low-carbon innovation.

Richmond-based IRDI Systems will receive $55,000 to further develop B.C.’s clean energy vehicle (CEV) sector, create good jobs and support low-carbon innovation.

Eagle Graphite will receive $290,000 to further develop B.C.’s clean energy vehicle (CEV) sector, create good jobs and support low-carbon innovation.

The Zero-Emission Vehicles Act (ZEVA), passed on May 29, 2019, means all new light-duty cars and trucks sold in the province will be clean energy vehicles by 2040, delivering on a key commitment the government made in its CleanBC plan.

New legislation will help reduce climate pollution by phasing out gas-powered light-duty vehicles and making zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) more available and affordable for British Columbians.
