The Government of British Columbia has signed an agreement with the Tahltan Central Government, to ensure the First Nation receives a share of mineral tax revenue collected from the Brucejack Gold Mine in northwestern B.C.

The Government of British Columbia has underscored its commitment to work with Indigenous peoples in the spirit of respect and collaboration by introducing a set of draft principles designed to guide the daily work of provincial government employees. Don Wright, head of the BC Public Service shared the draft principles with all 27,000 public service employees on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

The six Tŝilhqot’in community names within the Tŝilhqot’in Nation have been adopted as official names within the Province of British Columbia.

Negotiators for the Government of Canada, the Government of British Columbia and the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation initialled the Lheidli T’enneh Treaty today in Prince George. This event is a necessary step before the Lheidli T’enneh ratification vote in June 2018.
