In her speech from the Throne today, Lt.-Gov. Judith Guichon outlined the government’s agenda to create jobs and opportunity throughout British Columbia, and continue to grow a diverse economy to sustain and expand the vital services that British Columbians depend on.

Nominations are now open for the Order of British Columbia, the Province’s highest honour for individuals who have served with great distinction or excelled in any field.

Good citizens are the unsung heroes of our communities and deserve our recognition. Today Premier Christy Clark made special recognition of a hero from the 2015 fire season when she announced that John Phare, a Roberts Creek tree faller, will be the first recipient of the Medal of Good Citizenship.
