As a demonstration of the increasing post-secondary links between British Columbia and South Korea, Sookmyung Women's University has signed a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Royal Roads University to explore a joint master of arts in leadership program, and presented Premier Christy Clark with an honorary doctorate in political science.

B.C. businesses joining Premier Christy Clark’s trade mission to Asia are knocking on the door of South Korea’s booming technology sector and forming new trade and investment partnerships under the Canada-South Korea Free Trade agreement (CKFTA).

Premier Christy Clark begins a trade mission focused on opening new doors in the Philippines and developing new export markets in technology and liquefied natural gas (LNG) with established trade partners in Japan and South Korea.

From May 23-31, 2016, Premier Christy Clark will lead a trade mission to South Korea, the Philippines and Japan. This will be Premier Clark’s third trade mission to South Korea and Japan and her second to the Philippines.

A number of business deals with potential value in the billions of dollars have been signed during the visit  of an international delegation from Guangdong, China, helping to grow the economy and create new jobs for British Columbians.

Western Premiers met in Vancouver over the past two days to discuss ways to build future prosperity in Canada’s Western provinces and territories.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia announced that a total of $7 million will be available under the Canada-BC Job Grant to help businesses provide their current or new employees with skills training.
