The start of construction on the much-anticipated Highway 1 Admirals Road/ McKenzie interchange on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Victoria has begun. This, just over a year after it was first announced.

British Columbians will soon benefit from more improvements for safer highways in their home communities, thanks to a 50% increase to the province’s Community Safety Enhancement Program.

The Province has unveiled its plan to rejuvenate and add to the Stop of Interest signs located on highways across British Columbia.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is moving ahead with the installation of a signalized right turn at the Highway 91 southbound off-ramp to Cliveden Avenue as part of a solution to the rush-hour traffic congestion and diversion issue at Annacis Island.

Two projects to improve Highway 37 near Dease Lake are now completed, announced Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone.

Almost two kilometres of median barrier will be installed on the Highway 5 North corridor in Kamloops, which will help prevent traffic crossing over the median and causing serious head-on collisions.

Drivers are advised that Highway 1 near Three Valley Gap 19 kilometres west of Revelstoke will be closed in both directions on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, to facilitate the safe installation of the first four Remote Avalanche Control systems.
