As part of the public-safety funding announced in the 2016 provincial budget, the Province is committing $16.6 million toward a flood mitigation project in Richmond that will upgrade multiple pump stations.

Construction is set to begin on upgrades that will improve safety and the flow of traffic at two key intersections on the Nanaimo Parkway.

A $36-million contract has been awarded to Emil Anderson Construction Inc. for the second phase of six-laning on Highway 97 through Kelowna, increasing capacity and making travel safer along this busy corridor.
