What will the future Brunette Interchange on Highway 1 look like? That’s what the B.C. government is starting work on now – as part of the conceptual design phase of the Brunette Interchange Project on the Highway 1 corridor.

The public is invited to attend a drop-in open house on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, to learn more about the $36-million Mountain Highway Interchange project designed to improve traffic flow and safety on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) north of the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge.

Cantex-Okanagan Construction Ltd. of Penticton has won this year’s Deputy Minister’s Contractor of the Year Award in the category of grading for the Highway 97, 74 Mile to 76 Mile four-laning project located south of 100 Mile House.

Selkirk Paving of Crescent Valley has won this year’s Deputy Minister’s Contractor of the Year Award in the category of paving for the Highway 3 Bombi Junction to Nelway Junction resurfacing project.

BA Blacktop Ltd. of North Vancouver has won this year’s Deputy Minister’s Contractor of the Year Award in the category of safety innovation for their Quick Response Code Safety HUB.

Coquitlam Ridge Constructors of Surrey has won this year’s Deputy Minister’s Contractor of the Year Award in the category of bridges and structures for the Road 40 - Apple Springs Bluff Bridge project west of Lillooet.

Effective immediately, the province is expanding its network of where trucks can haul heavy, high value cargo, such as oversized construction materials used in the oil and gas industry.
