Drivers are advised that two lanes, one in each direction, will be closed nightly beginning Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019.

Motorists heading to the Kootenay Lake ferry terminal are advised to expect delays with the MV Balfour out of service due to a mechanical issue.

Argo Road Maintenance will assume responsibility for highway maintenance in Service Area 21, which includes provincial roadways for Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge and highways 29, 52 and 97.

Lakes District Maintenance Inc. will continue being responsible for highway maintenance in Service Area 28 (Stikine), which includes the provincial roadways for Atlin, Cassiar and Dease Lake and highways 2 and 37.

The Phase 1 results of the Peachland Transportation Study have been released, identifying three preferred route options that will improve safety and travel times along the Highway 97 corridor. 

Crews have adjusted the northbound lanes on the Alex Fraser Bridge to create room for a new additional lane, which will be ready for traffic later this summer.

The Whistler Ironman race will take place on Sunday, July 28, 2019, along the Sea to Sky Highway.

Drivers are advised that the speed limit will be reduced and two lanes will be closed on the Alex Fraser Bridge beginning Tuesday, July 23, 2019, in order for crews to remove painted lines and install temporary markers for the northbound lanes.

Crews are starting work on a highway resurfacing project on Highway 37 between Stewart and Dease Lake, making the drive safer and smoother for travellers.
