The BC Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN) will continue development and implementation of its economic development strategy, supported by $2.24 million in provincial funding over the next two years.

Under the CleanBC plan, the Province is supporting local government and First Nation investments in building projects that will lower energy costs, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and lead to more affordable community infrastructure.

The British Columbia government is launching a regionally driven renewal of the province’s Interior forest industry, aimed at developing a competitive, sustainable future for forest companies, workers and communities.

Premier John Horgan issued the following statement after the legislative assembly passed the Income Tax Amendment Act, which sets out the final pieces of the Province’s fiscal framework for liquefied natural gas projects in British Columbia:

The Forest Enhancement Society of B.C. is providing nearly $3.4 million to support a range of projects to improve unproductive forests or forests that have been damaged by wildfires or pests.
