The Province is investing $66,000 to support marketing of the Southern Gulf Islands as a tourism destination.

Gulf Island residents and businesses will be better able to access faster Internet speeds, thanks to the B.C. government's $126,750 investment in a new connectivity project that will soon get underway by Beacon Wireless Inc.

Kelowna International Airport will receive $1 million in funding this year from the B.C. Air Access Program for apron rehabilitation.

Quesnel will receive $87,189 in BikeBC funding this year for the Gray Avenue Trail Connection.

Residents of Port Renfrew and the Pacheedaht First Nation will receive increased capability for tsunami warnings and the potential to provide earthquake early warnings, thanks to a $550,000 contribution from the BC Disaster Mitigation Program to the Capital Regional District (CRD).

The Province is moving forward with intersection improvements at Racing and Hydraulic Road on Highway 97 in Quesnel and will be seeking the public’s input into the planning and design in the months ahead.

Safety and mobility along Highway 97 between Williams Lake and Quesnel will be improved as part of the $200-million third phase of the Cariboo Connector Strategy.
