Major construction will begin in early October on the project to replace the Vedder Bridge and upgrade the Vedder/Chilliwack Lake Road intersection.

Plans to upgrade Kamloops Transit’s full fleet of busses to compressed natural gas (CNG) powered vehicles that come with modern features like Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) received the green light from city council after a successful pilot that showed these busses to perform well in all four seasons while garnering significant savings in operating costs.

Work is now complete on resurfacing projects on Highway 16 and Highway 37A, announced Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone.

It has been more than 60 years since the Cheslatta people were displaced from their homes and cultural sites to make way for construction of Kenny Dam in northwestern B.C. The Cheslatta Carrier Nation and the B.C. Government signed a framework agreement designed to help heal historic wounds and shape a better future.

Work is underway to replace the 61-year-old Salmon River Bridge on Highway 97 north of Prince George, Mike Morris, MLA for Prince George-McKenzie, and Shirley Bond, MLA for Prince George-Valemount, announced on behalf of Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone.

The Government of British Columbia is moving ahead with a project to upgrade ramps at the Glade ferry terminal in advance of the arrival of the new cable ferry, which connects the community to Highway 3A.  

The B.C. government is providing $250,000 this year to support the work of the Moose Hide Campaign, a growing movement of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal men dedicated to ending violence against women and girls.

Work is now complete to replace a small, local bridge on Kamloops Lake Drive near the west end of Kamloops Lake.
