People who live and work in the North will be able to continue to rely on inter-city bus services, with funding provided by the Province and Government of Canada, through to March 31, 2021.

Drivers are advised that work will begin on Saturdays on the project to widen Highway 1 to four lanes between the Leigh Road Interchange and West Shore Parkway.

Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill is now open to single-lane alternating traffic, allowing commercial vehicles, RVs and other larger vehicles to travel through the corridor.

Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill will close at 8 p.m. today, Jan. 24, for overnight foundation work in preparation for weekend bridge installation.

Extreme winter weather continues to affect travel on Vancouver Island.

With a snowy weather forecast leading into this evening and tomorrow, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure advises it may be necessary to close bridges and highways as a precautionary measure to help ensure the safety of travellers.
