Three road-improvement projects are moving forward to address Cariboo roads affected by slides and washouts, paving the way for improved reliability and safety for residents in the region.

Drivers are advised of an overnight closure on Highway 1 over the northbound Colquitz River Bridge from 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, until 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Starting Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the left-turn lane and waiting area from Highway 17 (Patricia Bay Highway) to Keating Cross Road, Exit 18, will be moved south.

Drivers are advised that Highway 3A will remain closed at Yellow Lake while crews manage the stability of the slope, following a rockslide on the morning of Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Drivers are advised of an overnight closure of the northbound Highway 1 lanes on the Colquitz River Bridge on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, as work advances on the Colquitz River Bridge Widening Project.

Drivers are advised that the northbound left turn (Exit 18) from the Pat Bay Highway (Highway 17) onto Keating Cross Road is closed.

Drivers should expect delays on Highway 17 northbound as the right lane of the highway near Keating Cross Road requires emergency repairs.

Drivers should plan ahead for nighttime closures on Highway 1 eastbound near the 264th Street interchange, late tonight, March 28, 2025, while the contractor removes an overhead sign.

Drivers are advised Highway 1 will be reduced to one lane eastbound and one lane westbound starting tonight, March 27, 2025, at Flood Hope Road in Hope (Exit 165) to address a rapidly deteriorating sinkhole across the eastbound lanes.

Cyclists and walkers will enjoy more multi-use pathways, protected bike lanes, pedestrian bridges, and safety improvements as the Province helps local governments expand their active transportation infrastructure.
