Seniors with low to moderate incomes are settling into 48 new affordable rental homes that are open in Vernon.

Young people in Vernon and surrounding areas will have access to much-needed integrated health and wellness services, including mental-health and addiction supports at a new Foundry centre.

Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a new trail in Ellison Provincial Park, along with several improvements to the campground and expanded parking. 

Twenty-five families, seniors and people living with disabilities in Vernon are settling into new affordable rental homes with the opening of two projects completed as a result of partnership between the Province, through BC Housing, and the Okanagan Village Housing Society.

Okanagan Indian Band members have access to new affordable homes with the opening of 16 rental units located on reserve.

People in 55 B.C. communities, including Vernon and 18 other Interior municipalities, will benefit from approximately $17.3 million in grants in lieu of municipal property taxes this year.

 A new permanent supportive housing building with 51 safe and secure homes will soon be available in Vernon for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

People in Vernon will have access to new and expanded mental health and substance-use services as government continues to build a comprehensive system of care throughout British Columbia.
