PORT MOODY- Lower Mainland accommodations businesses can now access a business energy advisor for free energy assessments, help tapping into available product incentives and cash rebates, and assistance co-ordinating new product installation.
The BC Lodging and Campgrounds Association business energy advisor will focus on the communities from Hope to Vancouver, White Rock to Pemberton and Yale to Lillooet, helping small businesses that spend less than $50K a year on electricity. The accommodation business energy advisor will also travel the province to work in co-operation with other advisors.
The advisors will work directly with small businesses to identify potential energy- and cost-saving opportunities such as lighting, hot water, heating and ventilation. Products include energy-efficiency lighting, lighting controls, refrigeration appliances and more. They will help businesses access available incentives and elements of the LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program, including utility incentive programs. The advisor service is offered as part of the LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program, a $15-million, three-year program tailored to meet the needs of B.C.-based small businesses.
Once complete, the LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program is forecast to save businesses provincewide more than $7 million each year in utility costs. More than 4,000 small businesses across the province are expected to benefit from the program.
