DUNCAN - The fire alarm at Cairnsmore Place is being replaced to ensure continued compliance with code standards and safety measures for those living at the residential-care facility.
The project is a routine capital investment and $150,000 of the $250,000 total project cost will be funded by the government of British Columbia. The Cowichan Valley Regional Hospital District is contributing the balance of $100,000. The fire alarm replacement is planned to be completed by October 2013.
Since 2001, more than $7 billion has been spent on health-capital projects in British Columbia.
