Government has confirmed the ombudsperson’s investigation into the 2012 data breach and health dismissals would not be compromised by the continued release of records under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
The ombudsperson confirmed his view there would be no effect on his investigation, and the public service will continue to process records pursuant to the act.
Today, the government has released four further Freedom of Information packages, and as requests are processed by government officials, more can be expected. A significant number of documents have already been made available through the Freedom of Information process. This includes more than 4,500 pages of records. Over 2,000 of those pages are also posted publicly on Open Information.
As records are made publicly available, they can be found at: www.openinfo.gov.bc.ca
