Facts about redevelopment project at 550 West 13th St., Vancouver
  • The Province is providing $14.1 million through the Building BC: Community Housing Fund, and will provide annual operating funding.
    • The Community Housing Fund is a $3-billion investment to build more than 20,000 affordable rental homes for people with moderate and low incomes.
    • Approximately 9,000 of these homes are open or underway throughout the province.
  • The federal government, through the National Housing Co-Investment Fund, is providing $9.94 million to this project.
  • The City of Vancouver is providing $6 million through its Community Housing Investment program and $3 million in development cost levy exemptions.
  • The Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund, endowed by the Government of Canada, is providing a $175,000 grant for the study of the building of energy-efficient, affordable housing units.
