It is our great pleasure to welcome all delegates to the fourth annual B.C. Cabinet and First Nations Leaders’ Gathering, being held on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish First Nations.
This year's gathering is jointly organized by the First Nations Leadership Council and the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation. It is one of the largest gatherings of provincial and First Nations leaders in Canada.
The gathering is about fostering relationships, addressing problems, creating solutions and celebrating successes. The format this year offers many opportunities for First Nations community leaders to meet with the new B.C. Cabinet Ministers on issues of importance to your communities and to network with other leaders from across the province.
This year's gathering offers all of us face-to-face opportunities to continue on the path towards building a fair, just and equitable partnership where we are working together to close socio-economic gaps as part of our journey towards reconciliation.
