Families in the Delta school district will benefit from improved transportation services, thanks to $41,933 in funding under the new provincial Student Transportation Fund.

Motorists are advised that the new “no right turn on red” signal at the Highway 91 southbound off-ramp to Cliveden Avenue has been switched on as of this morning.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is moving ahead with the installation of a signalized right turn at the Highway 91 southbound off-ramp to Cliveden Avenue as part of a solution to the rush-hour traffic congestion and diversion issue at Annacis Island.

The Highway 17 route is about to get a smoother, flatter surface, stretching from 136th Street to 138th Street.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is committed to finding solutions to traffic-diversion issues during peak times on the Alex Fraser Bridge.

Highway 17, the South Fraser Perimeter Road, is now open in both directions after the ministry worked with the Delta Police Department to confirm that it was safe for travel.

As part of the public safety funding announced in February 2016, the Province is committing $550,000 in funding toward a flood mitigation project in Delta that will reduce the risk of property damage.

The B.C. government unveiled a multi-step plan to help unclog congestion on the Alex Fraser Bridge and Highway 91 – starting with a new interchange at Highway 91 and 72nd, which will eliminate the final traffic signal on Highway 91 leading up to the bridge.
