The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will be undertaking fieldwork that will provide additional technical information to help evaluate the options for improving safety and replacing the existing two-lane RW Bruhn Bridge on Highway 1 in Sicamous.

Outdoor enthusiasts will have more reasons to get outside with the announcement of a $2.17-million contribution of provincial funding to enable local government to acquire a section of rail corridor in the Okanagan.

Sicamous is receiving federal-provincial investment in critical clean water and wastewater infrastructure, announced MLA Greg Kyllo for Shuswap on behalf of Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Peter Fassbender.

As part of the Highway 1 Kamloops to Alberta four-laning program, the results of a public consultation on the Highway 1 RW Bruhn Bridge Replacement Project are now available online at: www.gov.bc.ca/bchwy1-projects

The deadline for the public to provide input on the project to increase safety, improve access to local roads and replace the RW Bruhn Bridge on the Trans-Canada Highway in Sicamous has been extended to Jan. 15, 2017.

One of B.C.’s most popular rest areas located along the Trans-Canada Highway near Craigellachie will undergo a series of improvements, bringing the washroom facilities and surrounding area up to a modern standard.

The public is invited to attend a drop-in open house on Tuesday, Nov. 15, regarding plans for the future replacement of the RW Bruhn Bridge on the Trans-Canada Highway in Sicamous.

As part of the public safety funding announced in February 2016, the Province is committing $33,000 toward an assessment of the flood risk around Mara Lake shores.
