A new international market development strategy is the latest item on the menu offering B.C.’s agrifood and seafood products to the world. The strategy aims to build on the record $3.5 billion worth of B.C. products exported in 2015.

Up to 1,713 British Columbians in B.C. towns and cities will receive the training they need for local jobs, thanks to the federal-provincial partnership under the Canada-B.C. Job Fund Agreement.

Premiers of Canada's four western provinces announced that Manitoba has joined the New West Partnership Trade Agreement, strengthening and expanding Canada’s largest, barrier-free interprovincial market.

The Province is seeking nominations for its newest provincial honour, the Medal of Good Citizenship, which recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the well-being of their communities.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia are providing up to $1.6 million over two years to support B.C.’s agrifood producers’ efforts to enhance on-farm food safety practices and meet emerging national and international food-safety traceability requirements.

Officials with the governments of British Columbia and Alaska signed an agreement establishing a bilateral working group that will build on and enhance water quality monitoring, environmental assessments and permitting relating to trans-boundary mines and development in both jurisdictions.
