BC Transplant celebrated a major milestone that will help save lives in British Columbia: the one-millionth registration in the province’s Organ Donor Registry.

In 2010, the Province set a life-saving goal in Alexa’s memory by introducing tough, Immediate Roadside Prohibitions for people who drink and drive. The new measures were instrumental in reducing the alcohol-related death toll on B.C.’s roads by 52%, saving an estimated 260 lives to date.

Education Minister Mike Bernier joined over 2,000 students along with school staff, special guests and families as they came together at the Q Arena in Colwood to sing and share music to celebrate Music Monday. He also presented a proclamation to students and Sooke School District Staff at the event.
