In British Columbia, there is a shared commitment to ensure that the province is a place where the inherent rights of Indigenous Peoples are recognized, and Indigenous Peoples can thrive.

Eligible voters are deciding whether to ratify the Kitsumkalum Treaty and self-government constitution.

The Province and seven Carrier Sekani First Nations are re-affirming their shared commitment to implementing a long-term, collaborative vision for reconciliation.

Kitsumkalum First Nation has initiated a Treaty ratification campaign with a ratification date set for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025.

Snuneymuxw First Nation and the Province have completed a transfer of over 700 hectares of land on te’tuxwtun, also known as Mount Benson North, to the Nation, advancing its reconciliation journey.

The Province has secured a mandate to enter discussions with the Tŝilhqot’in Nation, if and when needed, to set out how the requirement of Tŝilhqot’in consent would be integrated with provincial decision-making for mining projects in the Teẑtan Area in the Interior of British Columbia.
