A new affordable housing development will soon offer 65 homes and a unique resource for people with low to moderate incomes in Victoria.

The provincial government is making three changes to make it faster and more convenient for landlords and tenants to apply for dispute resolution services.

Every day, hundreds of non-profit housing providers help those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in communities throughout B.C. As we move into the colder months, these dedicated providers will ensure additional shelter spaces are available so everyone has access to a safe, warm place at night.

The B.C. government has introduced legislative changes intended to support tenants fleeing family violence, reduce red tape for landlords and tenants and make it easier for members to terminate a strata corporation.

The B.C. government will provide approximately $550,000 in funding to RainCity Housing and Support Society to operate the new 40-bed shelter in Maple Ridge and provide the necessary support services to those in need in the community.

As part of its commitment under the Provincial Domestic Violence Plan, the B.C. government is investing $500,000 to increase access to transition house and safe-home services for Aboriginal women and children who are affected by domestic violence.
