Travellers are advised the Seymour West Forest Service Road will be permanently closed at 34 kilometres starting Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, due to the removal of a bridge.

The public is invited to view a concept plan, and ask questions about the proposed development and use of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail and associated trails between Naramata and Chute Lake.

Travellers are advised the road between Wells and Likely - the Cunningham Pass (3100) Forest Service Road - will be closed at 3121 and 3126 kilometres for road repairs, from June 19 to July 3, 2012.

Recreational users and hunters are advised that the East Canoe Forest Service Road will be closed at 41 kilometres until further notice due to a washout.

To protect sensitive grasslands and riparian ecosystems in the Thompson Rivers District, the Province has introduced measures to restrict recreational use in the Tunkwa-Duffy area.

Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson concluded that transfer of the reservoir, watershed, park lands, and some of the other Crown lands identified in the Rose Valley area would not be in the public interest, and these lands would remain Crown land.

Travellers are advised the East Canoe Forest Service Road located in the Kinbasket Reservoir area will be temporarily closed at 12 and 27 kilometres from Saturday, Nov. 12 to Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is now requiring any sled dog company receiving a Crown land tenure to obtain an annual inspection of its sled dogs.

Earlier this month, provincial and federal agencies joined forces to inspect and patrol Shuswap Lake for compliance with B.C.'s boating and fishing regulations.
