Effective at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012, open fires and firework use will be prohibited throughout the entire Prince George Fire Centre. This prohibition is an extension of a ban that has been in place in most of the Prince George fire centre since May 19, and now includes the Fort Nelson fire zone.

Effective at 12 noon on Saturday, May 19, Category 2 open fires and fireworks will be prohibited in most of the Prince George Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect the public.

Tabor Mountain, with its 250 km of multi-use trails, is now a formally established recreation trail system, announced Prince George-Mackenzie MLA Pat Bell on behalf of Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson at the ATV-BC Jamboree on Tabor Mountain.

Warm, dry weather is expected throughout the Prince George Fire Centre into the weekend, bringing the fire danger rating to moderate to high and increasing the risk of wildfire.
