Premier Christy Clark has issued the following statement on Nowruz:

Workers coming to B.C. through the B.C. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) can now be exempt from the additional property transfer tax on foreign buyers, helping ensure B.C. continues to attract highly skilled workers and entrepreneurs across all sectors of the province’s diverse economy, including the growing tech sector.

Speaking at the sold-out second annual #BCTECH Summit, which more than 5,000 delegates will attend, Premier Christy Clark announced a significant increase in the number of tech-related grads and co-op placements throughout the province to drive tech talent development and support continued growth in  British Columbia’s thriving technology sector.

After the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver received two bomb threats in less than a week, the provincial government is stepping up to support Vancouver’s Jewish community.

The Government of British Columbia is moving forward to reform the province’s electoral financing system through independent and regular review as well as introducing legislation to make the system among the most transparent in Canada.       

A partnership between the British Columbia government, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and the City of Vancouver will create 109 units of new affordable housing for low- to moderate-income individuals, seniors and families.
