Jati Sidhu, Member of Parliament for Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon, joined by B.C. Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone to announce a major highway upgrade to the Coquihalla Highway that will provide additional safety for the commercial trucking industry.

Provincial road maintenance gets a boost, thanks to innovation and a $36-million budget increase, to ensure motorists around the province will continue to see a high standard of maintenance service on B.C. highways and roads.

As part of B.C. on the Move, the Government of B.C.'s new 10-year transportation plan, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Todd Stone announced priority actions for the Trans-Canada Highway to improve safety, access and mobility for motorists.

The Government of B.C. continues to invest in the reliability and safety of the provincial highway and side road network through B.C. on the Move, the Province's 10-year transportation plan.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia announced a funding commitment to improve safety along five kilometres of Highway 3 west of Princeton. The project involves relocating and straightening the highway to remove sharp curves, and adding a passing lane in each direction.

As a result of the provincewide Rural Highway Safety and Speed Review, changes that will help improve safety and mobility are coming to B.C.'s rural highways.
