The Ministry of Health is supporting improved transportation for seniors to help them maintain meaningful social connections and independence in their local communities.

People living on the North Shore will soon have better access to team-based everyday health care with the opening of the new North Vancouver Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC).

Young people and their families in the Okanagan Valley now have a new Foundry centre in Penticton, which focuses on reaching young people early — before small problems become big ones.

People in Sooke will soon have better access to primary care, with the expansion of team-based care in the West Coast Family Medical Clinic.

People in Prince George will soon have better access to team-based everyday health care, with the new Prince George Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) anticipated to open in June 2019 and the launch of a primary-care network (PCN).  

The Province, together with local partners, is establishing the Medical Arts Urgent and Primary Care Centre in Nanaimo to give people in the region increased access to team-based primary care.

People in Burnaby will soon have increased access to team-based health care with the launch of three primary-care networks (PCNs) and the opening of the new Burnaby Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) in May 2019.

Students, parents, educators, law enforcement and local partners in 12 B.C. communities will immediately begin receiving additional support and training opportunities to help at-risk kids get off the pathway to gun and gang violence, with a $1.12-million investment from the Province.
