British Columbia is gearing up to take full advantage of the economic and job opportunities resulting from the recent $8-billion shipbuilding contract awarded to Seaspan last month, Premier Christy Clark announced.

The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of the person who died as the result of a plane crash in Richmond, BC, on Oct. 27, 2011.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is now requiring any sled dog company receiving a Crown land tenure to obtain an annual inspection of its sled dogs.

At the request of the Mayors' Council on Regional Transportation, the Province is introducing legislation, under Bill 11, the Greater Vancouver Transit Enhancement Act.

The construction of a retaining wall three storeys high will be part of improvements to 1.2 kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway east of Golden, helping make this important route safer and more reliable.

Construction has officially started on the Highway 1 improvement project between Monte Creek and Bostock Road.
