Construction activities on Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill will begin the week of May 7, 2018.

Based on community feedback, the traffic-stoppage schedule has been adjusted to better accommodate tourists and local commuters before construction begins next month on Highway 4 at Kennedy Hill.

The B.C. government has approved a Crown land transfer to the District of Ucluelet that will enable the creation of a historic museum, enhancements to the area’s trail network, viewing areas and visitor amenities, and the preservation of important historical structures.

Road repairs are nearly completed along a 40-metre-long section of Highway 4 located approximately five kilometres south of the Ucluelet junction.

As British Columbia experiences some of its strongest tourism growth in years, Ucluelet is receiving $206,546 from the Province’s Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) to support its tourism industry.

Ucluelet will receive a total of $179,714 for projects that help support tourism infrastructure and amenities.

The Government of British Columbia is growing tourism economies by providing $10.5 million this year to 14 resort municipalities throughout the province.
