Motorists are advised that Highway 1 remains closed in both directions east of Chilliwack due to three mudslides that closed the highway Thursday morning.

Significant progress is being made to manage invasive plant species in the Thompson-Nicola region, as part of a $2.2-million pilot project that began this spring and will continue into 2020.

Motorists are advised that construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Old Vernon Road and Acland Road will take place from Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. to Nov. 24 at 12 p.m. Old Vernon Road will be closed at the intersection, 24/7, until construction is complete.

Motorists using 72nd Avenue at Highway 91 are advised of upcoming nighttime lane closures.

New traffic signals are in place on Highway 16 at Bear Road and Kimball Road, making the intersection safer and more efficient for motorists.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is asking for feedback from Chase-area residents on the four-laning project planned for the Trans-Canada Highway from Hoffman’s Bluff to Jade Mountain.

Relief is coming for people in the Capital Regional District now that the B.C. government has issued the construction tender to extend the northbound bus lane along the busy Douglas Street corridor from Tolmie Avenue to the Burnside Bridge.

Work will begin in early spring 2018 to replace the Ksi Sii Aks (Tseax) River Bridge in the Nisga’a Territory, which will make the crossing safer and more efficient for motorists.
