The Government of British Columbia and the B.C. Green Party caucus have come to an agreement to ensure support of the Speculation and Vacancy Tax Act, a key piece in the government’s plan for housing affordability in B.C.

B.C. Premier John Horgan and Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee met today for a bilateral meeting and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to act jointly to grow the region’s innovation economy, protect the environment and combat climate change, promote trade and improve transportation connectivity.

Premier John Horgan toured the interactive lab at SAP Canada’s Vancouver location, highlighting the 300 new jobs SAP has created over the past two years and government’s support to help grow opportunities in British Columbia’s tech sector.

The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing is listening to the concerns of renters and taking action on an early recommendation from B.C.’s Rental Housing Task Force by cutting the annual allowable rent increase by 2%, limiting it to inflation.
