Salmon Arm Airport will receive $225,000 in funding from the B.C. Air Access Program this year for fuel system upgrades, announced MLA for Shuswap Greg Kyllo on behalf of Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Todd Stone.

The municipalities of Trail and Castlegar will receive $191,018 and $59,000 respectively in BikeBC funding this year for cycling infrastructure projects in their communities.

Two projects are set to get underway this paving season that will provide smoother, safer access, and extend the life of the road surface on Highway 3 near Princeton.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will be holding a public information session on Wednesday, March 29, in Lillooet to provide the public with an opportunity to review the design and offer input on traffic management during construction.

Kimberley will receive $72,500 in BikeBC funding for the Kimberley Downtown Trails Connectivity project, creating a safe, accessible multi-use path connecting the downtown to the Peaks to Platzl trail head.

The ministry will be holding another round of open houses to gather input and feedback from the public on the development of future transportation improvement options for the Central Okanagan and Highway 97 corridor.

The west-bound slow lane (or curb lane) on Highway 1 will be closed nightly from Monday, March 20, to Saturday, March 25, inclusive, during the hours of 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. This closure will allow crews to work safely alongside a section of the highway west of McKenzie Avenue as they prepare for and perform drilling operations.
