After reviewing the tenders, the ministry has decided to postpone this project until further notice.  The bids received were much higher than the ministry anticipated. The ministry will be considering next steps for the future delivery of this work.

The Highway 17 route is about to get a smoother, flatter surface, stretching from 136th Street to 138th Street.

An asphalt resurfacing project has been awarded to Peter’s Bros. Construction Ltd. of Penticton in the amount of $1.9 million to resurface 11 kilometres of Highway 97 in the Summerland area.

Eight BCSARA teams in northern British Columbia will receive $363,000 this year as part of the Province’s $10 million in one-time funding commitments to the BC Search and Rescue Association (BCSARA) to help bolster training, administrative support and equipment renewals.

Safety improvements are well underway for the intersection of Vance/Cowart roads and Highway 16 in Prince George, as well as the intersection of Ferry Avenue and Highway 16. Both intersections are west of Highway 97.

Another hot-in-place asphalt resurfacing project is now complete in the Kamloops area.

Work is almost complete on the project to increase the clearance at two consecutive CN Rail overheads on Highway 5 at Tete Jaune Cache, about 18 kilometres north of Valemount.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has submitted its application to the Provincial Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) for an environmental certificate to construct the George Massey Tunnel Replacement Project.
