As many as 20 eligible British Columbians will get skill enhancement training and local work experience as IT help desk analysts to help them develop their careers in the tech industry.

Up to 30 eligible British Columbians will get skills training to prepare them for jobs as information technology analysts/consultants, salesforce and customer relationship management administrators, business analysts and marketing and sales professionals in the Lower Mainland.

Up to 30 eligible British Columbians, over two intakes, will get skills training to prepare them for jobs as construction craft workers and labourers in the Lower Mainland.

Up to 12 eligible British Columbians will get skills training to prepare them for jobs as computer network technicians in the Lower Mainland.

The need to act fast during the COVID-19 pandemic has led to brilliant breakthroughs in supporting British Columbians with complex needs, says the chief executive officer of John Howard Society Pacific.

One size most definitely does not fit all in providing community social services, and a non-profit serving some of B.C.’s most complex citizens is a clear example of that.

Up to 30 eligible British Columbians will get skills training to prepare them for jobs in the industrial sewing industry in the Lower Mainland.

Up to 26 people living and working in the Downtown Eastside will gain new training to enhance their skills as recycling workers, thanks to new funding from the Government of British Columbia.

The Province is working with the cities of Vancouver and Victoria to transition people living in encampments in Oppenheimer Park, Topaz Park and on Pandora Avenue into safe, temporary accommodations with wraparound supports to protect their health and safety in the overlapping COVID-19 and overdose crises.

To ensure B.C.’s most vulnerable – including people on income or disability assistance and low-income seniors – do not encounter additional barriers during the COVID-19 crisis, the Province is implementing a series of temporary supports and supplements.
