Transit users along Highway 99 will see quicker, more reliable travel with completion of extended bus-on-shoulder lanes south of the George Massey Tunnel, in addition to other transit and cycling upgrades.

Following additional consultation, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure alongside the City of Delta and other local stakeholders has decided to reschedule repairs to the Highway 17A crossing over Highway 99 until 2024.

Delta residents and drivers in the region are advised that permanent repairs to the Highway 17A crossing over Highway 99 will begin on Thursday, Nov. 9, with detours and partial lane closures occurring over the next eight weeks, mostly in the evenings.

With the completion of temporary repairs to the Highway 17A crossing over Highway 99, southbound travel across the structure has been reinstated using the northbound HOV/transit lane.

Drivers are advised that Highway 99 southbound at Highway 17A in Delta will remain closed tonight, Tuesday, July 18, and through rush hour tomorrow morning, Wednesday, July 19, while ministry crews continue clean-up activities following a commercial vehicle striking the Highway 17A overpass earlier today.
