Effective immediately, motorists on Highway 99 in Richmond are advised to follow new overhead flashing lights and yield to public transit buses at the southbound Highway 91 on and off ramps, and the southbound Westminster Highway on ramp.

Heavy equipment and fuel will arrive by barge Sunday in the community of Stewart, and will be mobilized in efforts to reopen Highway 37A. Stewart has been cut off since Tuesday when heavy rains washed out the only road into the community.

Upland Excavating Ltd. of Campbell River has been awarded a $1.5-million contract to rebuild the Dick Booth Culvert on Holberg Rd. west of Port Hardy. The culvert was washed out during flooding last September.
