Nearly 100 people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Vancouver are moving into new safe and secure homes, as the doors open on new supportive homes.

The Province, in partnership with the City of Vancouver, Lu’ma Native Housing Society and the federal government, is proposing to create approximately 50 new supportive homes for people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver.

An affordable rental housing pilot project is underway in Vancouver that will help BC Housing evaluate innovative building materials and designs aimed at tackling affordability, inclusion and climate change.

The Province has purchased the Burns Block building in Vancouver to provide homes with wraparound supports for women experiencing homelessness.

The Province, the City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that formalizes their commitment to work together to end the Strathcona Park encampment and help prevent encampments in the future.

The Province is purchasing three properties in Vancouver to provide more housing for people experiencing homelessness, including those sleeping outside at Strathcona Park.

More people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver, including those sleeping at Strathcona Park, will soon have access to a safe, warm and secure place to stay with 24-7 support.
