Meeting in Golden

In October 2013, the Columbia River Treaty Review Team hosted a meeting in Golden of industry, community organization representatives, local government and private individuals with an interest in issues related to recreation and road access near Kinbasket Reservoir. Representatives from Columbia Basin Trust and other provincial agencies also attended this meeting. The all-day meeting gathered together many of the key stakeholders in the region and included an onsite visit to Bush Harbour on Kinbasket Reservoir to discuss some of the issues related to the reservoir, including road conditions and recreation opportunities.

One of the action items arising from the meeting will be a review of the existing geotechnical information and further analysis of the geohazard risk and risk tolerance as well as an identification of further work that may be required. The Province and Columbia Basin Trust will be co-funding this study. It is anticipated this study
will be complete by March 2014.
