How will the Canadian federal government be involved in the Columbia River Treaty review?
Many people have asked how the Canadian federal government will be involved in Columbia River Treaty review now that this phase of the Treaty review process is coming to an end. Once a provincial decision on the future of the Treaty is made, B.C. will inform the federal government of its decision. B.C. and the federal government will work collaboratively in preparing for any potential negotiation with the United States. Canada is not required to make any decision regarding the Treaty at this time.
